This week, Kate attempts to reclaim the nostalgic magic of fall by detailing her feelings about dystopian Instagram-backdrop businesses and resurrects the fauxliage phenomenon to chat about manufactured coziness and the art of photo taking. She then reminisces about some of her back to school and fall-related longings, like the lore of school supply shopping, how not all spiral notebook manufacturers are created equal, the scholastic book fair, among other things. She discusses her theory about misplaced disdain for early spirited fall decor and PSLs and hypothesizes Millennials’ obsession with cosplaying the coziness of yesteryear and perhaps we’re chasing a time when the seasons were valued for their beauty and not resented for their role in the passage of time. She then answers listener voicemails about sexist college theme parties, talks about when she met her husband at some point, discusses Trisha Paytas naming her kid Malibu Barbie (??) and her issues with modern naming conventions, does some royals & QEII coverage and the misinformation of Nostradamus’ predictions, only to be too long-winded (as usual) and need to go into a part 2 bc of all the great questions this week. Enjoy and call Kate-lilah if you ever have a question or comment (312) 379-9676
