What's on the Bench

  • Marc is making a coffee bar and fiddling with a full size vacuum press set up.
  • Shannon is trying to design his own interpretation of a Conoid chair...and failing.
  • Matt is shortening his life huffing paint fumes.

Woodworking in America Recap

Ryan, Kyler, and Paul wrote in with glowing reviews of Woodworking in America. For some it was the first ever woodworking conference while others had previous experience with the show. In all it was a positive vibe with a lot more focus on the presenters and less on the marketplace. The general feel is that we hope the show continues and can keep the smaller, education focused feel.

Listener Questions

  • Karter has a neighbor with great tools that he uses from time to time and asks how he can suggest that neighbor buy more tools so he can have his cast offs.
  • Mark is resawing on his table saw with a small 8 1/4" blade and asks how he can get better results.
  • David was recently given a bunch of wood and asks for resources to learn about which species are best for what application.
