With all that said, let's dive into the episode for this week.

Alright, when this episode we're going to continue in our series on Matthew exploring the Gospel

according to Matthew.

And this was a series that I contributed to years ago when I was a teaching pastor at Door of Hope.

In previous episodes we have been exploring the sermon on the Mount, Matthew chapter 5 through 7.

And so with this teaching we kind of turn a corner back into the story of Matthew.

Matthew chapter 8 picks up the storyline of the drama of the Gospel according to Matthew.

We're going to consider in this teaching a fairly well-known story of Jesus performing a healing.

He heals the skin of a man who has some kind of skin disease which had all kinds of symbolic freight

and context in a Jewish setting.

If you've read the book of Leviticus at all and you got to that chapter that's all about

categorizing skin diseases and why it excludes you from worship in the temple.
