Okay, the question is like are you trying to impress that one artist that you follow on Instagram

or are you creating something that speaks to your actual audience?

And I think sometimes it's easy to fall into the trap of making work to prove yourself

to like your peers or to the industry or to, I don't know, some like imaginary jury that's in your head,

like art jury. But if your art's meant to connect to other people or to tell stories or to serve

others, the question is, are you sure you're aiming in the right direction with the art that you're

for? Asking the uncomfortable but necessary question, who is your audience? And how do you know
