We've all made wishes on birthday candles, shooting stars, or even in quiet moments of longing.

Well, today, our special guest, Pastor Jonathan Evans, focuses on a different kind of wish,

a wish that leads to a more fulfilling

life than we could ever imagine. Let's listen in as he explains.

Today I want to talk to you from the title, Make a Wish. Every Sunday, all around the

world, people show up to church to have a party. At the end of a birthday party, when they say make a wish,

it's kind of you just close your eyes, you may not even make a wish, or you make a wish,

you know it's not going to come true. It's a formality that you know won't become a reality

and everybody just moves on.

Every Sunday we do the same thing.

Everybody comes in the church and they have a party and most who gather wish to be like Jesus.

And the flame is lit in church when the party is taking place.

But by time we hit the parking lot,

that thing gets blown out, and everybody forgot the point.

Today, we need to make a formality a reality.

Jesus said to his disciples, if anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.

For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it.

But whoever loses his life from my sake will find it, for what will
