And we are here to celebrate this incredible mystical city. It's footballing singularity.

It's fan passion.

It's tapestry of cultures.

It's love of the game we love.

We've got a lot of friends coming to the stage tonight.

We got Carl Anthony Towns and Josh Hart coming to be with us.

And we're going to celebrate this kingdom that is New York sports and what binds us the football

culture, because this is a city of dreams. I grew up in Liverpool in a very dark time for that city.

And when I was a kid, I painted on my own wall the skyline of New York City.

What I thought it looked like, and it was the last thing I went to bed looking at every single night.

And to me, it spoke of hope and a sense of possibility where life could be lived in color,

whereas my own life in 1980s, England, was very much lived in black and white.

And then I moved here to New York City as soon as I could after school and found the football has been in

this town from the very beginning. Prepare. Prepare for me to go a little bit Alice Cooper in Wayne's

world on you here. But did you know, in the 1600s, the Lennarpe tribe played a unique form of football called Parseman.

There it is.

By the way, I'd go and watch that, in which academics have said, this is incredible.

The men were pitted against the women in a very rough and tumble game.

And I'm not a betting man, but I bet the men got their behinds kicked.
