One of the world's busiest international airports has been shut down, because of a fire at a nearby

power station, triggering global travel chaos.

The closure of London's Heathrow Airport all day to day is expected to affect more than 1,300

flights, with one airline analytics firm

estimating that upwards of 145,000 passengers could be impacted over the coming days.

And an expert told CNN it could lead to hundreds of millions of pounds and losses,

from airlines, cargo firms and surrounding communities.

Significant disruption expected over the coming days. Now, we've been hearing from

London Fire Brigade, we've told CNN that at this stage, the fire has been contained.

It's not expected to spread or to impact local residents here in West London, but it could take hours to fully tackle the blaze.

And then of course there's the question of restoring power to the residents, businesses and of course, London Heathrow,

have all been impacted.
