Summary

Maisie Peters is back with her third album ‘Florescence’ and wow is she in a different headspace / life-space from when we talked to her last in 2023 circa ‘The Good Witch.’

Happily in love and cohabiting with her boyfriend and her sister (the co-host of their podcast Twinhood) and her sister’s boyfriend (more on that later), between this record and the last the 25-year-old took stock, dealt with vocal polyps, fell in love with her childhood sweetheart, and wrote a banging album.

‘Florescence’ features collabs with everyone from Julia Michaels to Marcus Mumford (do you think he’s the Internet’s boyfriend too?!), plus single “My Regards” boasts a video directed by Amelia ‘Chicken Shop Date’ Dimoldenberg and stars Benito Skinner. Her work is full of Easter eggs. Like the nod to her fave teen film ‘Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging,’ in her album trailer, which also stars the lead actor Georgia Groome.

It is, I have notes both in front of me and on my phone. I mean, we have so many songs to talk about. I do, yes. But can we just, let's talk about the origin story of this entire project because it is, it's years in the making. Yeah, two, two and a half. And it comes off of a moment in your life where, I mean, let's just get into it.

0:39.8

I mean, you had polyps and people don't understand like what that does to a singer.

0:45.0

Yeah.

So this is funny because it really is the beginning of the story is I was finishing up, sort of finishing up in the middle of finishing up my tour for the Good Witch, which is my second album, which I was came here for that as well. We listened to it still all the time. Really? We play it. Yeah, we played all the time. Oh, that makes me so happy. I'm really glad. Well, this was, the Good Witch was also the origin of our beautiful three-way relationship. Yes. non-sexual. And I came here.

I then finished up the Good Witch tour in the UK at Wembley Arena, which was my biggest show

1:18.4

of to date, just a casual Wembley Arena.

1:21.7

And then throughout that time when I was on this American leg and then when I was in the

1:26.7

UK, my voice was getting

1:28.7

weirder and weirder and actually it got to a point on the UK tour where I could not sing like

1:33.5

like I could not sing that now. I couldn't sing anything in my head voice and it was scary but also
