Sometimes you got a present when you want a friend, all you got to do is present, present.

0:29.4

Welcome to press send, I'm Chanel Exander, and this is the podcast we talked through all of your problems, and I attempt to give you my best advice.

0:37.4

I'm so happy to be here with you. It's been a minute. It's been a couple weeks. I needed some time off. I think we all needed a minute.

0:50.4

Obviously this news is still greatly affecting us, but I hadn't had the podcast recordings go up during this time, but obviously horrified what's going on with the Roe vs Wade situation.

1:07.4

I'm never fully shocked that women are treated as second-class citizens, but don't worry.

1:18.4

I'm enraged. I'm sure you are too. We're going to fight this fight. We're going to keep going. We're going to help other women in places where they don't have access, and I don't want to give up.

1:34.4

I just know how it feels to feel disheartened, and I feel it now, too, and so if you're feeling that way, know that you are not alone in that.

1:44.4

I just wanted to do a quick catch up and answer some advice questions that were asked on Instagram.

1:52.4

I have some really common ones here today that I feel like is a good reset for going back into the podcast, just because I do these Q&As on Instagram, and I get similar questions.

2:06.4

I'm going to answer some of the most frequently asked today, actually, which I think will be a good intro back into the pod.

2:14.4

A little update on me. Obviously, I've been through some family stuff. My grandmother passed away, and that was really hard for me. I love her so much, and she's really the only grandparent I have.

2:29.4

And so that was a really emotional moment, and I think I haven't felt grief like that in a long time.

2:41.4

And kind of just like getting in and checking in with myself on how to deal with grief as the person I am right now.

2:50.4

We deal with grief differently at different points in our life, and it just felt really heavy, but I'm also like, I was so filled with this sense of reflection and being able to think back on memories and an appreciation for who she was, and I'm weirdly thankful for getting that opportunity to really reflect on a person.

3:18.4

And I'm glad I got to see her before she passed, and I think we sent her off in the best way possible.

3:28.4

But I think a lot of us are dealing with grief right now on so many different issues. Obviously, the world feels heavy.

3:39.4

And you know, it's funny. I always think, and I'm like, man, I don't want to talk about how heavy the world feels on the podcast, but it is. It just is. It's a heavy place right now. And I, I'm not quite sure.

3:52.4

Like how to manage it other than saying deal with it like it's grief deal with it like it's morning and understand that it comes in waves between like normal life shit and world shit.

4:09.4

It can feel like you're being swallowed up often. And then you have days where you're just like happy and light. And I know those days sometimes at least for me, they feel unfair.

4:20.4

But we have to have those days so we can come out on the other side with energy for the days that aren't so great.

4:26.4

So if you're, if you're feeling grief, if you're feeling morning, whether that be personal, professional, societal, know that the good days that you have need to be savored and bottled up for the days that are shit.

4:42.4

And that's really how I've been navigating this time. And I hope, I hope all of you have support.
