These words form the basis of Mahler's epic second symphony. This week, on Part 1, we'll talk about the first movement of the symphony. 0:47.4	So just a quick update about the week, had another concert canceled sadly at the end of June in Belgium and I think I'm now left with
0:56.3	three concerts that are still on the books before September one of which I'm
1:01.4	99.9% sure will be cancelled and then two in the end of August which I think do have a small chance depending on how things go because they are outdoors but But of course nobody knows. Hopefully they will
1:15.0	stick around but we'll see what happens. One nice thing is that we were able to
1:18.8	announce our new season in Lozan. My final season as the artistic director of the Lozanne
1:24.9	Chamber Orchestra. We're starting it off again if we can we hope we will be able to
1:29.6	perform these concerts with a complete Beethoven cycle of symphonies in nine days, which is a huge
1:37.1	undertaking for me for the orchestra, and we're really looking forward to doing that.
1:41.9	They're free concerts, it was as a sort of gift
1:44.7	to the city of Lausanne.
