But now for the news.

When we say abortion is on the ballot, we're really not kidding.

After weeks of wrangling with the Arizona Supreme Court, three Republicans broke ranks and

voted with Democrats to repeal the

1864 law that would nearly ban abortions altogether with no exception for

rape or incest. Of course they did. And why? Well, because they woke up and realized

that it would go into effect on June 8th of this year unless some sensible people put the brakes on and reverse course quickly.

The Republicans have a very narrow majority in both the Arizona House and Senate

and they must have figured out that adopting a civil war era law was not a good

look for modern legislatures in either party. The fix isn't in yet but but as of Wednesday, the bill is up for repeal with Governor Katie Hobbs,

promising to work with Senators on both sides of the aisle to finish the job. This is actually good news for the
