0:22.4	the mainstream and corporate media. And we have some very good examples of that today, actually.
0:27.6	So I'll get into that a little bit later, Ron, especially when it comes to Ukraine. But I want to start
0:31.9	with these pardons that Donald Trump is dishing out like candy.
0:39.0	Now, before we go into the detail, just remind me,
0:41.9	what is a pardon supposed to be for?
0:44.4	Because as I understand it,
0:46.5	it's as if somebody is like wrongfully prosecuted
0:51.1	or new evidence comes out that proves their innocence
0:54.0	or people on death row who
0:56.5	plead, you know, their innocence.
0:59.6	I mean, as a former prosecutor yourself, surely you must have a take on this.
1:04.9	Well, I've represented people who applied for pardons before as a lawyer.
1:09.9	And, you know, what I can tell you is how it works
1:13.3	in just about every state is that the governors don't have this kind of power over the pardons
1:20.4	like the president does. So unfortunately, our founding fathers, when they draft the constitution,
1:26.6	simply gave the president unlimited pardon power and really gave no oversight or checks
1:32.1	and balances or anything.
1:33.9	You know, just put it in it made it.
1:36.3	And I think they sort of never envisioned somebody as corrupt and dishonest as Trump,
1:41.0	but they should have.
1:43.7	But, you know, the way it works is there's pardon boards.
