Thank you. at Princeton University. I'm your host, Ryan Schenkel. Today, as we continue season five, I have with us as our guest, Shereef Gurgis, a graduate of

Princeton University in 2008.

He earned his B-fill at University of Oxford in 2010,

a JD from Yale Law School in 2016, as well as his PhD dissertation in philosophy, again at Princeton,

just this year. While his undergraduate thesis was titled somewhat pointedly by bad sexes like

torture, the ethics and metaphysics of embodiment.

His dissertation was admittedly more laborious in its title,

Axiological and Legal Theoretic Questions related to value in comparability,

and sort of shows the difference between an undergraduate and a doctoral.

He is the co-author of two books, What Is Marriage, Man, Woman, a Defense, Encounter, 2012,

with Dr. Ryan T. Anderson and our very own Professor Robert P. George,

as well as co-author of Debating Religious Liberty and Discrimination,

Oxford University Press 2017, also with Dr. Anderson and Professor

John Corvino. Among his list of accomplishments includes the authorship of numerous law review

articles with work cited in the New York Times, plus a Rhodes Scholarship, a tenured

professorship at Notre Dame Law School, and for this year, a visiting professorship at Harvard

Law School, not to mention

his recent election to the American Academy of the Arts and Letters. And yet, for all that,

his greatest achievement remains marrying his wife, the incomparable Gabby Gurgis,
