I know the glass half full glass hip empty motif has become a cliche.

But right now the facts are being bent by the prism you use to judge this market.

And the perception of most investors of the big institutional client at this moment is actually quite negative.

Even on a day where the average is managed to rebound,

dalgaining 209 points, SMB climbing 1.06%, and it has that convincing point 1.72%.

So I want to spend some time tonight explaining why events that would normally be viewed as positives.

Don't come off that way, because I know that's causing a lot of confusion out there.

First, let me give you the prevailing negative zeitgeist that bends the prism's light into a dark, verboding specter.

A zeitgeist that wasn't dispelled by today's actions, at least I believe.

The specter that's haunting this market can be summed up in two words.

Late cycle.

As in we're in the last part of an economic expansion, the latest part of the cycle.
