When we look back on this market and this year at this moment, we're going to see two things. First is a steady ramp in the S&P 500, and then some moves that seem like alchemy, but

It's easy to just park your money in an index fund, is that that's the conventional wisdom.

And today I did, okay, Dow advancing 47 points, that's being inching up 0.02%.

Now it's that dipping 0.26%.

But I think you should own more than just an index fund

because buying individual stocks with special characteristics

is how you can rack up some really serious gains.

That includes often scoring speculative stocks.

Far too often we become snobs when we talk stocks.

So many experts think that if you venture past the index,

you could fall off some sort of intellectual clip that makes any gains no and void.

It's as if the huge swath of points you could have gained simply don't count.

But that people is nonsense.

No one in a bank is ever going to say, wait a second, did you make those games in Kava?

I mean, that isn't fair. You need to be in McDonald's. Did you really buy Kavana? I mean,
