Today, the obvious, a polished new fed chief named Jerome Powell went to Capitol Hill.

Answered pretty much every question in a thoughtful and logical way.

And yet, stocks just cratered.

Now, seeking 299 points, S&P 4-1.27%.

Now, as that losing 1.23%.

Did Powell somehow blow his first appearance?

Talking about how a stronger economy might lead to more aggressive rate hikes?

No. But it wasn't solid excuse to ring the register on some stocks.

It had to remarkable run since the bottom.

If Powell's not the culprit, then we've got to ask ourselves what's really going on.
