If you want to know what's happening to Apple shares, I cannot recommend a piece from

market watch strongly enough.

It's short and it has incredibly little to do with

Apple which one could argue is also true of what's happening to Apple shares.

Basically Apple offered weaker than expected guidance for the current quarter and announced that it would no longer release unit sales numbers.

That caused a lot of selling of Apple shares, which caused a lot of analysts to cut their ratings and price targets on

Apple shares, which led to more selling and more negative notes from other

analysts. And that's a thing that's likely to happen again.

There is, according to Market Watch,

a relatively small number of financial analysts

that follow Apple who've yet to move either

their price targets or their ratings on Apple, but they're practically bound to do so.

When they do, the other 16 may not follow immediately, but they're practically bound to follow.

Quoting the report, analysts want their clients to believe that they are independent thinkers rather than heard followers.
