Two big goings on in the Apple B Samsung Damages Retrial on Thursday.

Apple called Samsung Crazy and Samsung was told it owes Apple $290 million more dollars.

That's a reverse order of importance though an order of chronology.

We'll start with the money part. The

Verdes says the jury came back on Thursday. It's third day of

deliberation in the case saying Samsung owes Apple $290 million. That's considerably less than the $380 million Apple was seeking, but

considerably more than the $52 million Samsung said it should have to pay. That's also on top of the $600 million in damages

Samsung already owes the Kupertino company. Needless to say, Samsung was

disappointed, though say so, it did.

Quoting a statement from the company,

we are disappointed by today's decision,

which is based in large part on a patent

that the US Patent and Trademark Office has recently deemed invalid.

While we move forward with our post-trial motions and appeals, we will continue to innovate

with groundbreaking technologies and great products that are loved by our many customers all around the world as soon as Apple invents them.

They did of course not say that last part.
