Arse Technica has had to browse through browser numbers from net applications.

While Safari's gains were slight in October, Apple's browser was one of only two that actually showed real gains.

Internet Explorer dropped a 0.39 percent to keep hold with the Lion's share,

59.28 percent from i.e.6 through a very small beta group of i.e. 9 users worldwide.

Firefox was second with 22.28%, down 0.14% from September.

Chrome was third with 8.47%, up 4.9%.

Safari was fourth with 5.53%, up an almost imperceptible 0.06% and opera was fifth with a 2.28% share down 0.11%.

For a look at operating systems we turn to Elekronista, which has net applications showing

Apple handhelds running IOS taking a bite out of the Mac in terms of online traffic worldwide.

According to the operating system numbers, the Mac has dipped below 5% share worldwide for the first time in about a year,

though it did that as IOS grew to a new high of 1.25% for all web traffic. Windows is still king of everything

with a 91.12% share worldwide. Narrow your focus to the US and we see no Mac cannibalization by I

things. Here the Mac hit a new high of 11.41 percent. Mr.

Safi does of course still rule here as well, that with a smaller than before, 83.45 percent,

IOS machines in the states represented 2.7 percent of all internet traffic, followed by Androids 1.07 percent.
