How big a deal will the fiery hellscape that was the Samsung Galaxy Note 7

disaster McGendgate end up being for Apple? It is still hard to tell.

Market Tracker I. C issued a report late last week saying that half of the

note seven owners with whom it spoke will replace their potentially incendiary devices with an iPhone.

Here's the thing though they spoke to 24 people. 9 to 5 Mac had I. C saying half of the 24 note 7 owners polled said that they have or will choose an Apple iPhone to replace their

recalled iPhone, while 17% said they would choose another Samsung.

Most said they will return their phone through a carrier's physical store.

I'm no statistician, but are 24 people really enough to figure out how this thing will go?

Additionally, if most of the people polled, nothing kinky, say they plan to return

their fire starter through a carrier store, couldn't their replacement decision be swayed by whatever

promotions are being run or whatever management has

incentivized store workers to move that said I. D.C's estimates look to 9-5

Mac to be in line with another industry watcher.

KGI securities analyst Ming Chi Quo has said that Apple could sell between 5 million and 7 million

iPhones to people switching after the Note 7 recall.

9 to 5 says that range would be half of the approximately 12 million Note 7 orders.
