Rumor of an Apple event turned out to be true. A number of sites including Recode say Apple has sent out an invitation for what looks to be a Mac-centric event next Thursday Thursday the 27th of October. The invitation features a sort of

smoke-filled apple logo lit up red on a black background. The words on the invitation,

Hello again, are significant for a couple of reasons.

First, they make up the title of a song by the cars that will be stuck in my head for the next week at least.

However, they're potentially more significant for another reason.

As a piece from the Mac Observers Brian Chaffin points out, the phrase

Hello Again invokes Hello World the traditional first thing you print or display when learning a new computer programming language.

The word Hello, complete with the lowercase H, was used to introduce the original Macintosh.

Those two things have Brian thinking that what the world will see next week might not just

be updated Macs.

Rather, we could be in for a grander reintroduction of the MAC line.

That's an exciting idea.
