Note 7 disaster McGedengate mean for Apple in the long term?

Not a lot, according to one financial analyst who was bullish on Apple.

Baron said Murrah analyst Jeffrey Kavall issuing a note on Monday saying he doesn't see big gains for Apple in the wake of the

Galactic Implosion. Part of that has to do with an apparent loyalty to Samsung

while another part has to do with a shortage of iPhone 7 pluses. On the Samsung Love, Kval wrote, reports from

Taiwan suggest 90% of customers returning a note 7 leave with another Samsung device, most commonly the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Our anecdotal U.S. checks indicate a lower, though still impressive 80% plus retention rate.

We would imagine early Galaxy Note 7 buyers to be the most

committed thus see scope for retention rates to decline over time. Even those

leaving Samsung may not reflexibly reach for iOS, and

anecdotally we believe note users to be a haven of the Applephobes.

Then there's the shortage of Apple's bigger than bigger phones.
