Apple retail finally has a dedicated leader again,

or it will soon the all things I make her

issued a press release Monday announcing that Burberry CEO Angela Arendt is hanging

up her plaidscarf and joining Apple as senior VP of retail and online stores.

And suddenly the iPhone 5S turn at last month's Burberry Spring Summer 2014 Runway Show makes more sense.

Apple says the newly created position will have a rent reporting directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook.

According to the release, she'll have oversight of the strategic direction, expansion,

and operation of both Apple retail and online stores.

Quoted in the press release, Arendt said, I am profoundly honored to join Apple in this newly created

position next year and very much look forward to working with the global teams to further enrich

the consumer experience on and offline. I have always admired the innovation and impact

Apple products and services have on people's lives and hope in some small way I can help

contribute to the company's continued success and leadership in changing the world.

A rent is an interesting choice. Apple has been without a dedicated retail leader for close to a year.
