Today is sort of an interesting study on

treatment of the real versus the imagined.

In the actual things category, Barons had William Blair analyst Neil Doradla issuing a note on Wednesday

saying the real phones that Google announced on Tuesday will be no worry for Apple.

According to the analyst Google's Pixel line of smartphones or another science project

that poses no competitive threat to Apple.

The analyst went on in his note to wonder why Google bothered to get back into the phone game and whether the move will make its Android partners cross.

Quoting his note, we are somewhat perplexed by the launch of the device and we believe that the

Pixel will not be viewed in a positive light by the Android ecosystem players

including Samsung the largest producer of Android-based smartphones.

He may be right about that, but how likely is Google to care?

Anybody else have a free operating system laying around that Samsung can use.

Drawing the focus back to Apple, Dorodla said his firm does not believe the introduction of

the Pixel will have material implications for Apple.
