We're working our way through a number of tasks this week for which people turn to their

transporters. For example, did you know that you can set up the transporter app on

your iOS device to automatically transfer picks taken on that device when you're on your Wi-Fi network, whether the

transporter is on that network or not? Maybe you think that's superfluous if you use

something like Apple's photo stream, but here's the thing.

Photo Stream only stores the last 1,000 photos.

If you want something from a few years ago, chances are it's already blown out of Photo Stream,

and you'll have to wait until you get

back to your Mac to get access to that pick. If you back up those old picks on

your transporter though and let the transporter app back up each picture going forward You've got access to all of your

pictures wherever you are as long as you have an internet connection. But no one else

does since your stuff is on your transporter, not on the servers of some third party

...
