The EC may be looking into the Flash Ban in Apple's App Store.

The New York Post has an unnamed source saying that the European Commission has teamed with the Federal Trade Commission

in probing Apple's policies for mobile software developers.

In June, the piece says the FTC opened an investigation into Apple's decision to ban developers from using other

companies tools to develop software for its mobile devices.

Now someone from Somewhere tells the post that the European Commission recently joined the FTC probe

into whether Apple's business practices harm competition. This despite the fact that the

FTC's probe is still in the kind of sort of preliminary stage and is not yet escalated to full scale

investigation at least not officially. Apple, the E.C. and the FTC all declined to comment for the New York Post piece.

Germany is doing a bit more hating on smartphones.
