After news of iPhone 10 being pushed from first place to third in April

by the Samsung Galaxy S-9 line of phones, I said I would be

curious to hear how Sammy's machines do in the months to follow.

What I was wondering was whether the S-9s would be able to hold their top two spots or was the month at the top simply a function of Samsung fans rushing for the newness?

Word from Key Bank analyst John Vinn indicates it might be the latter.

Barons had Vinn issuing a note on Tuesday. To be clear he doesn't cover phone makers.

However, he does cover chip makers to see how they're going to do.

He looks at phone sales.

He says that those have not been great for Samsung,

while iPhone sales have stabilized according to the... have not been great for Samsung.

sales of the Galaxy S-9 line are disappointing.
