not unlike the holiday shopping season developer season seems to be starting earlier these days.

While Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference doesn't kick off until next Monday, Apple is blowing a few developer-centric horns this week.

The Mac Observer had Apple hitting with new numbers on Thursday.

The site had Apple saying that developers selling apps through Apple's App Store have been paid over 70 billion

dollars US since it first launched in 2008. Based on its standard 30% cut, that means Apple

has taken in about $30 billion for app sales and

subscriptions for a roughly estimated $100 billion in sales.

Talking up the numbers, Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Phil, The Thrill Schiller, who's said to have said,

70 billion dollars earned by developers is simply mind-blowing.

We are amazed at all of the great new apps our developers

create and can't wait to see them again next week at our Worldwide Developers

Conference. Oh, were they having one of those this year?

There must be lots of getting ready to do.

For people going to the event and those who want to play the at home edition, Apple

has updated its official W.W. D.C. app. The update brings in a bright new red icon

for the application alongside an I message stickers app according to a piece from 9 to 5
