Apple goes greener in China.

Apple has announced a couple of new and rather gargantuan environmental

undertakings in China. The Kubertino company issued a press release from Beijing on Monday

announcing a renewable working forest plan that's similar to the one Apple

announced in the US last month. Additionally, the company announced plans to push manufacturing toward renewable energy in terms that were both more vague and perhaps more ambitious.

Let's bat first for teamorax. The press release says

Apple has teamed with the World Wildlife Fund to significantly increase responsibly

managed forests across China. That'll cover as many as 1 million acres of

responsibly managed working forests from which Apple can produce pulp, paper and

wood products. Quoted in the release, Apple VP of environmental initiatives Lisa Jackson who said,

Forests, like energy, can be renewable resources.
