With most Apple Watchers taking a deep breath and accepting that there won't be a new I thing for at least the next

few months, rumor and speculation are turning the changes on the way for both OS 10 and iOS. The

dragging about these rumors, they all come from one source. The upside, though,

that source tends to be reliable. Nine to five max Mark Germin has hit with three reports of note this week, one on the next version of

OS 10, one on the look of the next version of iOS, and one on getting iOS behind. I'm getting I.

We'll start with OS10.9, which German says will focus on various power user enhancements

and take core features from IOS.

Hitting some of his highlights, the new operating system includes major enhancements to the

finder application, such as tags and tabbed browsing modes, the ability to keep a different

space or full screen app open on a different monitor in multiple monitor setups is another important power user feature coming to 10.9.

Germin's sources say OS 10.9 will see some user interface changes, but the changes will not be drastic.

German had said last year that early builds of OS 10.9 included Siri functionality,

though he's not sure that that's still in the cards.

And according to one source, Apple has been testing a new multitasking system for OS 10 that is

similar to the quick app switcher function on iPhones, iPads, and iPod

touches. Apple could use app pausing technologies from iOS to pause background

application processes in OS 10. Such a system could help save battery life
