With one day left before Apple releases second quarter fiscal year 2014 earnings, analysts

are still issuing notes, getting in last minute expectations.

The pro-apple analysts seem to all want to do the same thing.

Draw attention away from the just-ended second quarter and the in progress third.

On Monday, Barron said notes from both Kinter Fitzgerald analyst Brian White and Susquehanna Financial

analyst Chris Caso, Mr White actually drew his revenue expectations

down, dropping those from $43.8 billion to $43.2 billion. That is still comfortably inside Apple's guidance of revenue of between

42 billion and $44 billion for the quarter. While lowering his revenue expectation,

White did up his earnings per share guesstimate from $10.21 to $10.29 based on Apple's more aggressive stock repurchase program.

Basically he seems to think that if you are looking at Apple,

now is not the time on which to concentrate.

It's not a holiday quarter. Apple's China Mobile deal is still ramping up, and there

are no new I-things. The confusing thing about his note, White lays out quarter over-quarter numbers, which are always going to look bad

from the December quarter to the March quarter because so far they're not moving

the holiday shopping season to the March quarter. That's why Apple and analysts and every

other company out there tend to look at numbers in year over year terms not
