Ventures Principal Gene Munster's good feelings around the phone. Last Wednesday when it was

announced he wrote on his firm's website,

Today's release is a powerful reassurance that Apple is moving forward, releasing products in the face of dire predictions for production and supply chain disruptions.

This is evidence of directional improvement in the supply chain and production

along with a well capitalized company.

Apple is making product decisions to advance the long term when new customers

with the less expensive SE and sell them wearables and services in the future. Digging into that same note, he expects that to be a lot of people to whom to upsell.

Quoting his post again, we believe the new iPhone SE will account for 20% of total iPhone units

over the next year. This means the SE will likely be the second best-selling

iPhone model behind the iPhone 11. We're modeling for 153 million

total iPhones over the next 12 months and expect the SE to account for about 30 million units. He thinks those 30 million will be a

combination of second-hand iPhone buyers buying something new and Android

switchers. He doesn't offer a guess as to what percentage will be which, saying only that the

iPhone SE will fractionally expand iPhone market share. I kind of wish he had guesstimated a switcher percentage since a lot of his
