Thursday I sort of gave Pacific Crest

semiconductor analyst John Vinn a bit of grief

for a potentially costly thought exercise.

Noting the news that Apple is ditching imagination technologies and the rumor that it might

ditch dialogue Semiconductor, Vinn issued a note Wednesday listing three more Semiconductor. Vin issued a note Wednesday listing three more

semiconductor companies Apple might ditch, though he's pretty convinced that

Apple wouldn't ditch two of them and probably wouldn't ditch the third. What bug me about the piece was the needless volatility it might have shaken up.

Both imagination and dialogue lost a significant amount of value on the news slash rumor

that they were about to be drop-kicked by the

Kubertino company. I explain my reason for not liking that thought exercise because

we are playing today with another thought exercise.

It's kind of like an onion in a couple of ways.

First, it has many layers, and second, layer after layer,

it's still an onion.
