Three notes of notes from the financial sector to finish the week.

We start with Wamsi Mohan, which sounds like a code name for Lindsay Lohan, but is in fact an analyst with Merrill Lynch.

Mohan likes Apple.

Baron says he's got a price target on Apple's shares of $140 and a rating on the shares of buy.

And he reiterated both of those in a note that he sent the clients on Thursday.

Quoting his note, although we think the stock in the near term will likely be driven largely by the iPhone

shipments, upcoming release of Apple Watch and expectations for a large capital return announcement

in April, we address the long-term question of which

new-end markets Apple can tap into in order to grow its revenue even further.

This makes perfect sense. He's not saying Apple is doomed, rather he wants to know what Apple will have done for him lately in a few years. Why wouldn't one want to know or at least ponder that?

Now I must confess when I first read the Baron's piece on the Mohan missive I thought
