there's a rumor out there this week that doesn't make a whole lot of sense,

but it's getting picked up anyway by a number of sites, including the Mac Observer.

The talk spawned by reports in Chinese language sites My drivers

and PCPOP, has anonymous sources in the supply chain in Taiwan saying

the sapphire coming out of Apple's Mesa Arizona plant will be for iWatch's not

for iPhones. The reason given by the sources is expense. Sapphire they say is too expensive to use on Apple's communicator.

Both translations are about as choppy as they can be, however, they have enough in common that

they seem to have the same secret source or sources behind them. Then again maybe one was

written based on the other. Tough to say. What they both seem to say is that

Apple is that the

a sapphire display.

They also say that Apple plans to employ sapphire for both the iwatch

and the iPhone, however the opinion of whoever's behind the story,

is that the sapphire will prove too expensive for some the phone no. Here's the thing though. The world heard a report as

recently as late last week that the new Apple GT advanced Arizona

Sapphire plant had taken delivery of machines that can make large sheets of sapphire glass in large quantities.
