I'm not a huge fan of reports from market trackers. firms like Strategy Analytics and I.C that say how many of what they think who sold. It used to be they'd come out with how many

iPhones they thought Apple had sold in the given quarter. Apple would come out with actual

numbers. The trackers would have been wildly wrong and we'd all forget

or pretend to forget when a quarter later the whole blessed cycle would start again.

Now that Apple no longer gives such numbers, we can't even check their

work, making their reports even more frustrating. Mostly I don't talk about them anymore.

Thursday and both said the same thing. Apple was the number one smartphone

iPhones were shipped, but they do agree, however many it was, it was the most.

According to a piece from Apple Insider, the latest estimates from Strategy Analytics put

Apple's iPhone shipments at 70.7 million units during the three month period ending in December, enough to take an 18.9% share of the global market.
