In less than 36 hours Apple will announce earnings for the

recently ended December quarter and offer guidance for the feels like it's

never going to end March quarter but Wall Street seems to be living by two

words this week where Apple is concerned. Why wait? Three stories from Behrens to get the

Wednesday party started. The first has BMO Capital Markets analyst Tim Long cutting his rating on Apple shares from outperform to market perform.

That's basically like cutting it from buy to hold. That's because

he's anticipating lower guidance from Apple on Thursday than he had been.

Quoting the piece, we expect a meaningful guide lower when the company reports on Thursday night

on the order of five to six billion dollars compared to consensus revenue estimates, he writes.

His current estimate is for revenue of $39.9 billion in March versus his prior

46 billion and the consensus of $45.57 billion.

Has he not heard of the higher average selling price for iPhone?

Yes, but he's bombed that it's unlikely to go any higher. Additionally Apple won't be selling as many phones in his

estimation. Wall Street's expecting sales of 59.3 million iPhones in the March quarter,

according to the piece.
