Being born and raised a southerner, I like to illustrate points with stories.

I remember this one time I told the story analogous to another story to drive home the point of that other story.

So I spent a bit of time looking for a good analogy for this story, but Dad Burnet, I couldn't

find one. Strategy Analytics hit with smartphone numbers on

Thursday that shows Samsung winning in smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Oh, I'm not saying Samsung 1. Strategy Analytics kind of is.

Barron's had the firm laying out numbers that showed Samsung shipping 81.3 million smartphones in the December quarter.

Strategy Analytics Neil Mauston was quoted in the piece as saying

this was Samsung's fastest growth rate for almost two years

and it helps Samsung stay ahead of Apple and maintain first position with 20% share

for the quarter and 22% share for the full year.

Moston also talked peak iPhone quoting barons.

Moston notes Apple's growth has peaked at 74.8 million units in the quarter,

growth of just 1%. Apple's iPhone growth is peaking.

Apple will have to expand into new markets like India or Nigeria if it wants to reignite

iPhone growth in 2016, according to the analyst.
