Some financial analysts see good news coming from Apple on MacoS can day, some see bad news.

So today we blow a big dating game kiss to UBS analyst Steve Melonovitch for seeing both

Mm-mm, the good news. The good news, research has Malinovich thinking that Apple sold

75 million iPhones last quarter. The bad news, those seem to have been made up of more of last year's iPhones than most had expected.

If that fans out, average selling prices will come in lower than had been expected, which means revenue will miss expectations as well.

While one assumes that UBS has its own research department, it was not research from UBS that informed the Malinovich missive.

Extrapolating from that, Malinovich thinks the average selling price for iPhones last quarter will come in at $660 versus Wall Street's expectation of $680.
