Since the introduction of the A-series processors for iPhones and iPads, there has been this

low but persistent rumbling that Apple would kick Intel out of the Mac one day, instead powering its computers with

chips designed by the Cupertino company.

Some see it as impossible, others see it as inevitable, few see it as imminent,

or few did until Wednesday.

That's when KGI Securities Analyt

Ming Chi Quo issued a report saying

Apple's A series will hit a performance level somewhere between

Intel's Adam and Core I3 chips.

He expects that to happen in the next one to two years, according the Apple Insider. Now it doesn't sound like he thinks

Intel would get its walking papers at that point. Rather he seems to think that

Apple's A series could power a low-end Mac as well as the usual list of I-things.

That would mean Macbuyers in 2016 and Beyond could have the option of purchasing a machine

powered by Apple's A-series processors, according to Apple Incider.

Quo is not the only person to make the case for Max powered by A-series chips in recent weeks.
