An incredible year for the App Store for IOS flipped over into an incredible week.

Apple issued a press release late last week announcing a record-breaking 2014, a record-breaking first week of 2015,

and a record-breaking New Year's Day.

According to Apple's note, Billings in 2014 rose over 50%, with apps generating over $10 billion in

revenue for developers.

That's kind of a stunning number when one compares that to the $25 billion developers have earned from the sale of apps and games through the stores so far.

Two-fifths of revenue that they've made came in 2014 alone.

Drawing focus down to 2015's historic week,

Apple says people Planetwide spent nearly half a billion dollars on apps and in-app purchases

during the first week of the year and what were people doing on New Year's Day?

If you said sleeping it off that was no doubt true for some of them.

Still others were downloading apps.

While one might expect Christmas to be the biggest day for app downloads,

Apple said in its release that as of now anyway, biggest day 2015 marks the single biggest day ever in App Store's Sales History.

Apple's release went on to trumpet innovations in-app development and payment processing.
