Summary

1:14.6	Mac Barnett. And I got in touch with him and we tried to do an interview over the phone and it didn't
1:21.4	work very well. I had a lot of technical issues. And then he happened to be coming to New York because his
1:25.2	publisher is in New York. And I managed to wrangle him over to my kitchen, pour him a glass of wine, and we had a conversation.

1:33.2	Yeah, I think I knew I wanted to be a writer from the time that I was really young.
1:37.6	But I didn't really know what kind of book I wanted to write.
1:41.7	I should go back even further and say, like, 1980 commercials. There was this there was this commercial for Nestle Quick
1:50.2	chocolate milk that was like about a theme park. It was basically a Wonka rip-off. There was
1:54.8	like a theme park that was like Quick World and it was like all the stuff you could do in it.

2:02.1	these kids went down a water slide
2:04.1	full of chocolate milk that was a swirly straw
2:06.4	into a pool of chocolate milk
2:08.4	and it was just like the coolest thing
