Welcome to Our Hen House. This is Jasmine Singer. This is Marianne Sullivan. And on this week's show, Marianne, will be joined by another extraordinary activist from Africa, this time from Kenya. Jack Lecashon, who is Masai, lives in

the Masai Mara, where he promotes a transition to a vegan diet and advocates for wildlife conservation.

That is really cool. I know that you had to bend over backwards to get this interview recorded.

Yeah, it was, it was challenging.

We had a lot of tech problems, but I thought it was worth it.

I thought it would be worth it.

And indeed, it was just so fascinating that this work is being done, how important it is.

Like, also that it's so connected to wildlife conservation, which is really the direction

from which Jack was coming, the area in which he's trained.

But the fact that he's also promoting veganism as a way to deal with drought and the fact that that because the Maasai have traditionally

had a great number of cattle, their land is being degraded and their land is also land where

wild, we're talking about wildlife like you think about African wildlife. These are really the charismatic megafauna that lived there.

So what a crazy, fascinating interview.

I am so glad we did.

We finally got it.

There are a lot of problems with, well, actually, we smoothed out a lot of the problems with the tech.

First of all, we tried, I think twice to set it up where it didn't work at all. Then this

interview ended up being recorded in three different pieces on three different types of tech.

So there are a few bumps, but I think it's pretty comprehensible. So I hope you really enjoy it.

I really enjoyed talking to him. I can't wait to hear that interview. I know
