We have with us WGA nominated screenwriter Ruben Santiago Hudson to chat about his adaptation

of August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. And you know, I got to say that Ruben was so

generous with his time. He was, he was so great about talking about what it took to complete this adaptation and to,

to do the, you know, the rare thing of bringing a stage play to the screen successfully and preserving

the message of the play, the themes of the play, the characters, the story, but still making

it cinematic, still giving it the feeling of a film, which he definitely did successfully.

And I got to say, we talked about Ruben's entire career and Ruben was very forthcoming about his creative process.
