So we're continuing on with the small prophets, but let's cover our key questions here,

which is how does this bring me closer to Christ?

How does the Book of Mormon help me understand the Old Testament?

And how does this help me live a more Christ-like life?

And this week we get to start the prophet Amos,

but some of the small prophets are so tiny

that we didn't have time last week to touch on Joel.

Would it be okay if I just mentioned a few favorite verses in Joel?

You know, Joel is such a fabulous prophet.

He's this tiny little three chapters,

and he's living at the same time as Amos, so I figured that was helpful.

And it's all in 100, 150 years after the two kingdoms have separated.

So it's several years, a couple centuries before the Babylonian captivity,

and at least 50 to 100 years before

the Assyrians take the northern tribes. But Joel is written to these people who are

facing the day of the Lord. And because of that, there's a lot of overlap with the restoration.

And in fact, Maroni, in Joseph Smith history, Moroni quotes this, Joel.

And if we read it in that light,

it's in Joseph's in Joseph's history, chapter 1, verse 41.
