I have one of my favorite people here. I won't conceal it from you.

It's Lynn Tillman. Her essays have been collected under the title,

What Would Lynn Tillman Do? I think this is a fairly important question, but how did it get

phrased? There's a note about this. Stephen Fraley, who's the undergraduate chair of photography

at SVA,

started a photo magazine called Dear Dave about six, seven years ago.

And we're friends, and Stephen has a great sense of humor, very whimsical.

And unbeknownst to me, he decided this would be his advertising campaign for Dear Dave.

In every issue is a big blue page with white letters, and it says, what would Lynn Tillman do, question mark?

And in the gutter of the magazine, it says, subscribe to Dear Dave.

Oh, that's what Lynn Tillman would do.

That's right.

She would subscribe to Dear Dave.

Now, I had no foreknowledge of this.
