Scholar at the University of Cambridge. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology

from Yale University is a veteran of the US Air Force. His writing has appeared in The New York Times,

and surprising is your background and your journey up until this point. It's definitely not that

Yeah, sure. So like you mentioned, I'm a PhD student here in Cambridge in my fourth and final year.

And before this, I studied psychology at Yale's in undergrad and worked as a research assistant

in a psych lab there at the university, but before I entered these universities, my life was a lot

different. So backing way up, I was born in Los Angeles and born into poverty. I never knew

who my father was. My mother became addicted to drugs and she wasn't able to care for me.
