| 1:30.0 | My friends, I'm very happy to tell you that this podcast is brought to you by Bombas. Bombas makes the most comfortable socks in the history of feet. They've literally rethought every little detail of the sock we wear to make them more comfortable. I wear them every time that I wear socks. And I have to tell you, I actually have a thing about socks because I'm six foot two-ish. I have larger feet. And it's hard to find socks that fit you well. |
| 2:00.3 | And are actually really comfortable and in really made super well out of good materials. I also have a dog that likes to chew on my socks and steal them whenever he's feeling a little devilish. |
| 2:11.3 | And I have to say the bombas socks are so comfortable. They fit well because you can actually pick sizes and they're constructed well. And also there of such good quality that my fashion designer dog, it does not get to redesign them with his fangs whenever he gets a hold of one. |

| 4:23.4 | So how did you get into the fear fighting business? |
| 4:27.5 | I got into the fear fighting business because my life is a testament of constantly doing things that feel bigger than me, the things that scare me. And things I'm not sure I'm ready for. And I've been writing on these interwebs for about 18 years. |
| 4:46.1 | So half my life. And, you know, at no point in that beginning, did I think writing was a career for me. I was doing it because I just like to do it. And I never stopped. I never stopped. And even as I had a full time job when I graduated from college in marketing, I'd come home and be blogging in the evening. And I think one of the things that I kept on doing was I didn't know whether it had strategy or not. But |
| 5:16.1 | constantly writing gave me the practice of telling the truth out loud, which in itself can be scary. But I got the practice of that because I thought, Hey, nobody's really reading this thing. So when people started reading it, I already had to have it. But specifically the fear fighting piece really became clear. |
| 5:35.1 | I would say three years ago when I was asked to do my TED talk. And I turned it down twice because I was afraid that I wasn't ready. I was basically like, hmm, I don't even have the capacity for this because doing the TED talk is basically like a part time job at this point. |
| 5:56.1 | They run you through a coach. You have all this prep and because they really care about the quality of what shows up on their stage. And I remember being like, I'm too busy. I don't even have the time to devote to be able to come up with the talk. That's this amazing. |
| 6:14.1 | So I said no. And I said no again. And then three weeks before TED, I was like, you know what? I'll just go to TED for one day to cheer on my friends because I was emceeing and keynoting a conference in a different city. |
