Welcome to the Rosary. I'm Dr. Troy Henkel.

I'm here with some wonderful families that come together to pray called Rosary Families,

which is a good name. So I'm here with the Reardins and Katie it's great to be back in this house. I'm friends with Katie's grandfather Chuck and so I remembered coming here years ago. It's great to be back. So let's begin by calling to mind that we're ever in the

presence of Almighty God and whom we live and move and have our being. We call

upon him in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

We offer this up for all of our prayer petitions

and especially for a Rosary tailgate,

which will be tomorrow night June 5th at Fiorellas,

that we have dry weather and not rain.

The title for our Rosary is called Lust as we're working our way through the Seven Deadly

Sins.

So what is the nature of lust? Like food, human sexuality is a great

gift from God. It brings together all of our faculties for love, physical, emotional, and parental, in a way that nothing else on earth does.

It reflects, in fact, the love of the Holy Trinity where the love between persons proceeds into another

person the Holy Spirit and it serves as one of the primary images of God's radical love for us, especially in Christ.

So clearly, sexuality is meant to be directed to the ultimate human good of love. Lust is where we lose that direction.

It's where we pursue sexuality that's disconnected from and even an attack on our capacity for love.

Our father who art in heaven,

howlowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
