It sits in the corner of my room.

Purchased from West Elm when I moved in my first adult apartment, it's your classic

slope chair.

It's clean, comfortable, and most of all, it's pretty inconspicuous.

When we purchased it, I simply thought it would be a nice compliment to the rest of the

apartment's decor.

But now that we've had it for the better part of 5 years, it's become so much more than

that, and I'm not sure it's in the good way.

It witnessed my proposal in real time, it's served as a place of comfort to work from

during lockdown, and it's even served as a makeshift dog bed when we trained our

Springer Spaniel otherwise afterwards.

But today, in this very moment, it's being downright disrespected.

Currently, it looks like Joey Trebiani and the famous The One Where No One's Ready episode,

where he puts on every single piece of Chandler's clothing.

Clean clothes that haven't been put away, dirty clothes that could possibly get rewarned

before they're washed and everything in between.

It's become the much dreaded clothing chair that we all have in our bedrooms or apartments.

A place where clean clothes go to wrinkle, a place where dirty clothes go to be forgotten,

and a place where, well, everything gets forgotten honestly.

The clothing chair, for lack of a better term, is a trademark accumulation zone in everyone's

home, and there's truly no getting around it.
